HII Cyber Subsidiary Opens New Hub in Maryland

In an important boost to data analysis support for the U.S. military, HII’s cyber segment, Enlighten, recently marked the opening of their brand-new facility in Columbia, Maryland. Enlighten is renowned for its comprehensive cybersecurity services, which include cloud-based infrastructure services, software and systems engineering, data science, and a variety of competency programs tailor-made for national security agencies.

The inauguration event was not only a grand opening for the new facility but also a celebratory occasion where numerous significant contracts with the Pentagon and other federal entities were proudly announced by the firm. These contracts underscore a commitment to advancing cyber defense techniques, securing communication networks, and providing cutting-edge data analytics solutions.

Another highlight of this event was the showcase of Enlighten’s latest development in “big data” analytics platforms, known as IONIC. This state-of-the-art cloud-enabled platform is engineered to amalgamate data across operational readiness, intelligence, infrastructure, and cybersecurity in order to pinpoint crucial information effortlessly. The IONIC system is capable of delivering customized results sourced from diverse inputs, including innovative artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies. These features enable IONIC to efficiently “narrow the field” for users during investigations and when carrying out mission-critical tasks.

Andy Green, the Executive Vice President of HII, expressed his enthusiasm during the opening ceremony, stating, “HII is excited to open our new office in Columbia, Maryland.” This move by HII through its Enlighten segment is expected to significantly bolster the company’s offerings in cybersecurity and data analytics, providing the U.S. military and other federal agencies with enhanced capabilities in cyber defense and data handling.

The establishment of this new hub in Maryland showcases HII’s commitment to innovation and support for the national security infrastructure. With the introduction of advanced platforms like IONIC and the securing of multiple high-value contracts, HII and Enlighten are poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data analysis and cyber security solutions for the United States.
