Museum Built in Pune Highlights Jain Values
An aerial view sets the stage of the newly unveiled cultural gem on the banks of the Indrayani River. The Abhay Prabhavana Museum is a striking tribute to Jain philosophy and Indian ethos, promising an enlightening journey for all who visit. Encompassing an expansive 3.5 lakh square feet, the museum offers a richly immersive experience that breathes life into ancient teachings through 30 carefully curated galleries. Advanced displays, including animations and virtual reality, invite visitors to delve into the core Jain tenets of non-violence, tolerance, and forgiveness.
This ambitious project is the brainchild of Abhay Firodia, who serves as the Chairman of the Amar Prerana Trust. The inauguration ceremony was graced by several notable figures, including key political leaders and dignitaries. Among them were Union ministers who brought their radiance to the event, esteemed members of the International Court of Justice, and influential voices in environmental conservation. The ceremony also featured a spiritual component, with blessings imparted by prominent Jain leaders and guidance from a distinguished representative of the Dalai Lama.
The museum is thoughtfully designed to welcome more than 2,000 guests each day, providing an engaging exploration of the values that form the foundation of Jain wisdom. Over 350 pieces of artwork and installations are on display, each a testament to the enduring principles that Jainism upholds.
