GMA Network Unveils ‘Dapat Ganito, Kapuso’ Campaign to Champion Filipino Values

In a remarkable effort to shine a spotlight on the rich tapestry of Filipino beliefs, traditions, and values, GMA Network has recently unveiled its latest advocacy campaign titled “Dapat Ganito, Kapuso.” This groundbreaking initiative was featured on “24 Oras” last Thursday and marks a significant move to celebrate and foster the core values that define Filipinos.

The campaign comprises seven compelling short stories, each one designed to reflect and promote key Filipino values. These values, deeply ingrained in the culture and ethos of the Philippines, include Maka-Diyos (God-fearing), Mapagmahal sa Pamilya (Family-loving), Maabilidad (Resourceful), Masayahin (Joyful), Malikhain (Creative), Mapagmalasakit sa Kapwa (Compassionate), and Makabayan (Patriotic). Through these narratives, “Dapat Ganito, Kapuso” aims to connect with viewers on a personal level, reinforcing the importance of these values in today’s society.

This initiative also serves as a pivotal part of the countdown to GMA Network’s milestone 75th anniversary in 2025. It not only highlights the network’s long-standing commitment to quality broadcasting but also its dedication to nurturing and promoting the values that resonate with the Filipino spirit.

The first episode of the series spotlights the value of Maka-Diyos, featuring Nadine Samonte, a “StarStruck” Season 1 alumna, and Euwenn Mikaell, known for his role in “Firefly.” They delve into the significance of having a deep-rooted belief in and reverence for God, which serves as a moral compass for Filipinos in their daily lives.

Speaking on the essence of the theme, Nadine expressed, “Mahalaga ang pagiging maka-Diyos nating mga Pilipino kasi ang maka-Diyos nandun ‘yung fear mo, ‘yung takot mo na magkamali ka, na ‘yung gusto mo sa sarili mo na maging mabuti kang tao. Tsaka ‘yung buhay natin hiram lang, so ibigay mo na ‘yung best mo” (Being God-fearing is important to us Filipinos because it instills in us the fear of making mistakes, encouraging us to strive to be better people. And since our lives are borrowed, we should give our best).

Adding to the excitement, the campaign will feature a constellation of stars from Sparkle, GMA’s artist center, who will each take part in the other narratives centered around the remaining Filipino values.

Episodes of “Dapat Ganito, Kapuso” are now available for viewing across multiple platforms, including GMA, GTV, Pinoy Hits, Heart of Asia, and I Heart Movies. Additionally, fans and viewers worldwide can access these inspiring stories through the official digital platforms of the Kapío Network, ensuring that these valuable lessons reach every Filipino, no matter where they are.
