In an exciting development from the culinary world, Olivia Hall, a remarkably talented chef from Redditch, has earned a finalist spot in a competition for an illustrious scholarship provided by Le Cordon Bleu. This institution has been at the forefront of culinary education for over a century, playing a pivotal role in the careers of many renowned chefs globally.

Olivia Hall is among sixteen finalists selected for the 2024 scholarship after a stringent evaluation, succeeding in standing out amongst numerous semi-finalists. These finalists are now in the fierce competition for a scholarship that holds the promise of transforming their culinary career.

The Le Cordon Bleu Scholarship is esteemed within the culinary circles for its comprehensive educational spectrum, aimed at equipping the winner with an unmatched level of expertise in the culinary arts.

The victor of the scholarship will engage in the Grand Diplôme® program, an intensive nine-month course that intricately combines the Diplôme de Cuisine and Diplôme de Pâtisserie. Additionally, the scholarship covers a three-month internship at CORD by Le Cordon Bleu, a year’s accommodation through Londonist, mentorship sessions with the iconic chef Michel Roux, a work experience stint with Galvin Restaurants, and an enriching trip to Andros’ site at Bairs-sur-Cère, France, culminating in a prize valued at over £60,000.

Emil Minev, the culinary arts director at Le Cordon Bleu London, expressed immense pride in the selection process’s high caliber of talent. “Our finalists have shown exceptional promise, and we eagerly anticipate their performance in the competition’s final stage,” Minev remarked on the exceptional pool of talent showcased this year.

The rigorous selection for this coveted scholarship began with hundreds of applications from aspiring chefs worldwide. Through interviews, quizzes, sensory evaluations, and more, the semi-finalists were whittled down to the compelling roster of finalists, including Olivia Hall.

Salina Campbell, an alumnus of Le Cordon Bleu and founder of Joli, reflected on the challenging selection process after returning as a judge for the semi-finals. “I was honuored to engage with so many passionate contestants, making the selection process incredibly challenging but ultimately rewarding,” shared Campbell.

The climax of this scholarship competition will unfold on September 16, 2024, at Le Cordon Bleu London, where the finalists will showcase their culinary prowess and creativity before a panel of distinguished judges.
