Steam’s Weekly Top Sellers: Dragon’s Dogma 2 Makes a Resounding Entry

The gaming community has been abuzz as Dragon’s Dogma 2 swiftly climbed the ranks to become the second top-selling game on Steam following its release. Capcom’s long-anticipated sequel made its debut on March 22, receiving glowing reviews from both critics and players alike. The game’s popularity was hinted at the previous week when it secured the third spot in pre-orders alone, showcasing the strong anticipation among fans.

While Dragon’s Dogma 2 captured the hearts of many, it was Counter-Strike 2 that retained its crown, again emerging as the week’s top seller. This marks a significant return to the top for the title after a 19-week hiatus from the number one spot. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 experienced a slight dip, moving down to the third spot, yet still showing strong sales figures.

In terms of hardware, Valve’s Steam Deck continues to perform admirably, securing the fourth position and outpacing the newly launched Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition. Despite the success of its predecessor, Horizon Zero Dawn, the latest entry from PlayStation’s PC port seemed to have a slower start, landing in fifth place.

The battle royale genre remains competitive with PUBG: Battlegrounds nudging down to sixth position, closely followed by Apex Legends which made a return to the charts in seventh place. In the sports category, EA Sports FC 24 managed to advance two spots, landing in eighth, showcasing the unwavering popularity of football titles among the gaming community.

As for the realm of fantasy, Baldur’s Gate 3 saw a slight decrease in its rank, now sitting in ninth place. Nevertheless, its presence in the top ten underscores the continuous appeal of in-depth role-playing games. Closing the list is Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, a testament to the enduring allure and competitive nature of tactical shooters, securing the tenth spot.

The current top ten list on Steam for the week ending March 26 is a varied showcase of genres and platforms, reflecting the diverse tastes of the gaming community. From intense shooters to immersive RPGs, and groundbreaking hardware like the Steam Deck, the rankings offer something for every type of gamer. As these titles jostle for positions, it’s clear that the digital storefront remains a dynamic battleground for the hearts, minds, and wallets of gamers worldwide.

Highlighting the shifting sands of the gaming landscape, this week’s Steam sales chart is a testament to the ever-evolving nature of player preferences and market trends. As new titles debut and others maintain their stronghold, the competition is fierce, promising exciting times ahead for both gamers and developers.
