Pacific Defense Continues Support of Team Palantir on the US Army’s Next Generation TITAN Program

In a significant move within the defense sector, Pacific Defense, a leading innovator in Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) products and mission solutions, has announced its ongoing partnership with Palantir USG, Inc. in the development of the US Army’s groundbreaking Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node (TITAN) ground station system. This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to enhancing the Army’s next-generation deep-sensing capabilities through advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML).

Advancing TITAN’s Capabilities

With Palantir being awarded a prime agreement for the TITAN Prototype Maturation Phase (PMP), Pacific Defense steps up as the C5ISR Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) systems engineering, integration, and deployment lead. The effort aims to mature TITAN prototypes, significantly enhancing the Army’s battlefield intelligence and reconnaissance capabilities.

Pacific Defense’s role encompasses a comprehensive array of responsibilities, including the analysis, design, integration, and testing of CMOSS-aligned mission capability. One of the key objectives is to reduce the system’s size, weight, and power (SWAP) footprint. Additionally, the company is tasked with ensuring a modular, open architecture for the TITAN system, facilitating the rapid integration of next-gen capabilities throughout its lifecycle.

Embracing MOSA for Future Defense Technologies

MOSA technical standards, particularly CMOSS and The Open Group’s Sensor Open Systems Architecture™ (SOSA), are pivotal in revolutionizing weapon systems design and support. These standards provide an open system technical baseline that allows for the seamless sourcing and integration of best-in-class capabilities, dramatically cutting costs and development time. Pacific Defense’s expertise in MOSA solutions plays a crucial role in driving this transformative movement within the US Department of Defense, directly contributing to the future-readiness of military capabilities.

A Collaborative Effort

“Pacific Defense is purpose-built to drive the MOSA movement in the US Department of Defense and has been a leading partner of the US Army in creating and delivering CMOSS capabilities,” remarked Travis Slocumb, CEO of Pacific Defense. His statement highlights the company’s commitment to open collaboration with both partners and customers, underscoring the importance of teamwork in achieving groundbreaking advancements such as the TITAN program.

Under the partnership, the development of 10 TITAN prototypes, including both Advanced and Basic variants, is outlined. This development is pivotal for integrating new critical technologies and ensuring a smooth transition to deployment. Pacific Defense’s contribution will not only involve designing and integrating CMOSS systems within the TITAN Systems Integration Lab (SIL) but also ensuring that both Advanced and Basic variants are ready for deployment and testing in the Prototype Maturation program.
