New ‘Dota 2’ Hero Kez Gets Rapid Buffs Thanks To Terrible Win Rate
Valve has just rolled out a minor update for Dota 2 aimed at enhancing Kez, the newest addition to the hero roster, who made his debut just a day ago. Although Valve hasn’t officially stated the reason behind these enhancements, community speculation points to Kez’s remarkably low win rate, which has been recorded at under 35% in certain skill categories.
This latest Dota 2 update introduces several significant buffs alongside one that, on the surface, might not seem influential. The most prominent enhancement is a boost in base armor, shifting from zero to two right from the start. This change is likely to bolster his early game by preventing him from being easily driven away from his lane by long-range adversaries, currently the most effective strategy against him. In addition, Kez’s speed has been slightly increased, from 315 to 320, facilitating smoother movement during matches.
One of the minor tweaks is a slight reduction in the attack rate of his Falcon Rush ability by 0.1 across all levels, leading to a quicker attack speed. This adjustment may seem small, but it could improve the natural timing for executing his abilities, enhancing overall gameplay fluidity. In most competitive brackets, excluding the lower ranks where matches can be unpredictable, Kez’s win rate lingered around 35%. Notably, during his first active day, he displayed an alarming 29% win rate in games exceeding 8000 MMR. While it’s not uncommon for a freshly introduced and complex character, like Kez who possesses dual ability sets, to hover below a 50% win rate initially, such a noticeable deficit was clear grounds for immediate improvement.
Moving forward, further modifications to Kez are expected over the coming weeks. As players invest more time mastering his abilities, his win rate is anticipated to rise.
