M-League Launches ‘Blast+’ for Global and Indie Free-to-Play Games in India

In a strategic move reflecting the burgeoning potential of the Free-to-Play (F2P) gaming market in India, M-League has announced the launch of its dedicated publishing branch, ‘Blast+’. This initiative aims to harness the expanding interest and revenue opportunities inherent in F2P games within the Indian gaming landscape.

M-League’s decision to target the F2P segment comes in the wake of its successful endeavors with GameDuell in Europe. Acquired in 2022, GameDuell seamlessly transitioned from a web-based skill gaming platform to a robust, cross-platform entity with a significant focus on F2P options. Presently, around 70% of GameDuell’s revenue is derived from these F2P games, highlighting the lucrative potential of this genre.

Blast+ is set to introduce a range of innovative games sourced from global and indie gaming studios specifically for the Indian market. The new publishing arm will emphasize localization to cater to diverse cultural preferences, alongside comprehensive marketing strategies, adept live operations, efficient payment solutions, insightful data analytics, and exemplary customer support. This holistic approach is designed to ensure a seamless gaming experience that resonates with Indian gamers.

To bolster its aspirations, M-League has assembled an elite team of industry experts. These professionals bring experience from renowned gaming giants such as EA, Activision Blizzard, Riot Games, Wargaming, and Scopely, thereby enriching Blast+ with unparalleled expertise in game publishing and player engagement strategies.

The Indian gaming market today boasts nearly 600 million gamers, a figure that underscores the rapidly growing appetite for diverse gaming experiences. Insights from industry reports reveal a marked shift in user preferences, with 41% of gamers transitioning from casual games to a broader spectrum, and 28% showing a readiness to explore new genres.

This evolution in gaming preferences is paralleled by a substantial rise in In-App Purchase (IAP) spending across the industry in India. The average revenue per paying user (ARPPU) has surged to $19.2 in the fiscal year 2023, showcasing an exponential growth trajectory approximately 10 times higher than that of fiscal year 2019.

By leveraging the growing influence of F2P games in India and enhancing the player experience through its seasoned team, M-League’s Blast+ seeks to cultivate a new era of gaming engagement. This venture not only positions M-League as a pivotal player in the realm of F2P games but also invites a fresh, energetic gaming audience, eager to immerse in innovative and globally curated game titles.
