Ubisoft Disbands Team Behind ‘Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown’

Ubisoft has recently revealed that the development team responsible for ‘Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown’ has been disbanded, with its members being reassigned to other projects within the company.

The announcement followed reports indicating that the team had been dissolved. The game received positive feedback from both players and critics, and it’s clear that the team’s efforts were instrumental in this success.

“We are incredibly proud of the dedication and work exhibited by the team at Ubisoft Montpellier in creating a game that struck a chord with players and reviewers,” stated Abdelhak Elguess, Senior Producer of ‘Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown’. He further added that he is optimistic about the game’s continued success in the future.

The journey of ‘Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown’ has reached the conclusion of its post-launch roadmap, which included several content updates and a major downloadable content (DLC) release in September. Ubisoft is currently focused on expanding the game’s reach to more players, with its recent launch on Steam and plans to make it available on Mac by this winter.

Elguess also noted that most of the developers who were part of ‘The Lost Crown’ team are now applying their skills and expertise to other projects within Ubisoft. This redistribution aims to enhance these projects with the valuable experience gained from working on ‘The Lost Crown’.

Critics and gamers alike were captivated by ‘The Lost Crown’. It was widely praised and even received a remarkable score of 9.5 out of 10 in a review, underscoring its exceptional quality. The game’s design encapsulates the essence of a stellar Metroidvania game while respectfully paying homage to the roots of the Prince of Persia franchise. It was hailed as a game that everyone should experience.

‘Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown’ is accessible across a variety of platforms, including PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X, ensuring that fans of the series can enjoy it regardless of their preferred gaming system.
